A competition for young musicians that covers all musical genres. This is the proposal of Imagine Brazil, an international festival that has been taking place in Brazil since 2015. Created by Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI), the largest music non-profit organization for young people in the world, Imagine is held in Brazil in partnership with Sustenidos.
Imagine has been present in about ten countries for more than 20 years. In Imagine Brazil it is allowed the participation of soloists and groups of up to eight people, between 13 and 21 years, living in the state of São Paulo. The festival encourages contact with different cultures and the exchange of experiences. The winner of Imagine Brazil guarantees a place in the international final and a preparatory workshop that guides him to the big contest, which takes place the following year in one of the participating countries. All expenses of the winner are paid by Imagine Brazil.
The first selection phase is conducted by experienced professionals. The application forms and mp3 media submitted by the candidate are analyzed. Up to 40 groups or artists are chosen to compete live in the semifinals.The panel of judges consists of four Brazilian professional musicians, a Sustenidos delegate and a member of JMI. They choose who will compete in the final, held in the city of São Paulo at the end of the year.
TRAINING EXPERIENCE
The 12 chosen for the grand final participate together in formative and integrative activities – workshops / master classes – with professionals from the Brazilian music scene. They are actions focused on artistic development, such as: career management, stage performance, collective music practices, technical improvement and production.
AWARDS
The Imagine Brazil first place has a place at Imagine International, with all the expenses paid, and a master class.
